omg i juz went to the St Andrew's Cathedral.
nv been inside there before..
on a friday afternoon it's an esp quiet place.
u can vaguely hear the noise and traffic outside. like a sanctuary indeed.
soft music. choir singing i believe. played from a cd.
nice atmosphere.. thou there's nth shocking abt the way the cathedral was built..
nth unique abt the way the weight of the steep roof was distributed.
using flying buttresses and lots of angel/diagonal buttresses.
plus extensive use of equilateral pointed archs.. or was it lancet.. zzz.. cant really tell..

but nonetheless a peaceful place to visit.

yesh i finally got a new com..
but it's not exactly cheap.. hrm..

but i think 169 bucks for a windows vista is abit..

now when did starhub upgrade my internet without me knowing.. hrm..

thou the windows vista part was far far far more ex than i'd expected..

the other day i was on the bus..
there was this 2 japanese school girls infront of me..
then next to them were an indian couple..
then came afew malays..

i've always thought that im pretty bad with finding my way arnd..
especially when it comes to marina square..
i mean who on earth would design such a complicated maze and call it a shopping mall?

precisely! the squarish nature of this building makes it impossibly hard to tell the way, unless of coz u memorise by heart which shops lie facing which direction..
imagine yourself being a foreigner(or a foreign talent like myself).. finding your way around in marina square would be so difficult that it makes me wonder how come the terrorists havent bombed the building down for that matter..

oh yes, i realised something today.. i mean i realise stuff every now and then but this is something i find interesting tt should probably be blogged down..
k so i went for this 2 conventions at suntec today.. together wif ss and soh..
the first one was a games convention, with all the major games developers setting up booths and trial rooms n such.. even with a mini dota tournament..
the second was a job fair.. or rather, a recruitment fair.. coz there happened to be overseas universities looking for potential undergrads as well..
the difference between these two was that.. there was.. apparently.. alot more chio gals in the games conventon.. lol.. agreed by ss as well.. the ratio was about 20:0..
yea like wth.. how come..

realised that they make use of the landscape and surroundings and lighting to create the atmosphere, as well as alot of interial design to make the ambience feel right.. yea it's houses not commercial buildings.
buden wad i realised is tt alot of the ones shown can be sorted into like categories.. according to the structure n texture.. =.=
but got one i liked.. a floating building set on a pool.. attached to the land with a walkway.. it can move around to adjust to the amount of sunlight entering rooms.. cool..

it says, the american society believes that every individual has an IQ of above average..
now THAT.. is totally bullshit..
i mean.. how can everyone be above average? then where are all the below average people?

3 short days of enjoyment there, went to here n there.. amusement parks and all.. which i wun talk much about coz it's all about the same..
instead, lemme say that i realised that the people there likes to wear makeup..
even young gals.. so the result was..
alot more chio gals compared to singapore..
so we were talking.. nxt time go orchard can close eyes n walk alr.. lol..

i've been having problems buying jeans or pants since like the dawn of time. buden i never realli tot it was this serious.. ok i'm sure we all come in different shapes and sizes but hey shouldn't they have a one size fit all kinda thing? then it kills all the hassle of endlessly tryin to find smth that fits u..

ah yes i'm back yes i'm back..
so i guess its about time to write somethings here.. else it'll go stagnant.. again
let's see, the most obvious topic to blog about would be brunei.. and well yea it's quite an unforgettable experience, thou i wouldn't say i wanna go there again.. but then again.. going again doing the same things i wouldn't realli mind.. but tt's besides the point..
k i wonder why we have to fly in economic class.. i thought saf is so freaking rich? well in fact it should be.. then y cant we charter a plane that has only 1st class seats? ppl'd enjoy the ride much better wouldn't it.. and try scheduleing the flight in times other than night.. ppl need rest ok? and sitting in a plane doesnt equate to sleeping in a bed..
then the camp in brunei.. ok.. not bad for a camp out of nowhere on a mountain.. but well.. the freaking part is that it's ON a mountain.. and the medical centre is at the foot while my bunk is right at the top.. damn.. oh yea i have a few photos taken at the top.. so yea u'll see the height..
but the food in the canteen is not bad.. i actualli had the time to try most of the stuff there.. let's count.. butter chicken, omelette rice, fish and chips, sweet and sour fish, fried shrimps, olyster chicken, mee mamak, fried rice kampong, roti prata, hor fan.. yup.. those were the ones i tried.. not bad thou..
skip the training part coz its damn dry.. 4 days outfield in the roadside tentage.. doing nothing..
zzzed.. but thank goodness i managed to trade 2 books wif ppl to read.. angels and demons as well as pandora's box.. both not bad.. but i'm getting tired of reading books tt the whole story unfolds itself and ends in a matter of hours.. come on.. i know its gripping.. but let's try make 5 min seem like 5 min ok? the characters in the books seems to be able to complete, in 5 mins, things tt would have taken me 5 days.. sheesh..
and damn im gonna be wad 2ic for my senior medic.. dammit.. i'm so not gonna become his pet dog like my upper study.. now THAT is thoroughly degrading.. dumb brainless regular tinking he's some big shit.. face the facts man.. you cant survive in the society, that's why army took pity on you and gave u a job.. even the papers pointed that out.. regulars find it hard to find jobs after their army life..
i mean.. tink about it.. its true isn't it? no offence to the military but.. if u look closely, the army does indeed has alot of brainless regulars.. people who are so brainless that they have only pri6 education level.. they sign on in the army, gets spec, eventually warrant.. then go around tinking that they're on top of the food chain.. definitely not all warrants are that way.. but people like that exist.. so when such people get discharged from army, they find themselves jobless.. they used to be able to know nothing and be the biggest shits around.. having people call them sir and pay respect to them.. now? they are nothing.. worse than nothing.. so how? most go back to DXO.. and when they look back, they'll say oh i dedicated my life to the military etc.. yea right man.. if you havent, you'd probably starved to death..

eh.. in about 13 hours time i'll be in the airport waiting to fly to brunei..

and well i was beginning to tink that being in my medical centre is like being in the newest episode of survivor.. heh.. let me tell you why..
k there's this new senior medic that came to our medical centre.. and alone that time came afew other inspectors.. or rather interviewers.. who come and show care n concern for us NSFs by giving us a confidential interview for us to voice out our opinions n stuff.. mainly ppl use this time to voice their discontent against the old senior medic and MO.. and of coz.. there're ppl who support the old senior medic.. namely my upper study.. coz he does nothing everyday and talks his way around senior medic.. who is juz a dumb 1sg who dunno anything.. and gets smoked by terrence.. work that i do he claims credit.. so yea..
so before and after the individual interviews, he'd go around asking ppl in private what have they said about the medical centre.. this and that.. well yea we do that also.. so it's like.. chris talk with terrence.. i talk to chris.. jamal talk to terrence.. chris talk to weijie.. i talk to weijie.. terrence talk to clement.. etc etc.. all planning and thinking about what should be said to the interviewers..
which in my opinion is very similar to survivor.. where ppl meet here n there to discuss.. and discreedly.. lol coz for me n weijie we discuss while in the toilet.. or while pretending to do something else.. for others they use smoking as an excuse.. etc etc..
but then again.. it's the army.. things are just the way it is..
you rush to wait and wait to rush..
you know something? avoid n ignore are 2 totalli diff things..

mondae go back, afternoon kena call to mandai hill camp.. slpt overnight there for nxt day morning cover cobra challenge..
4am wake up do cover till noon..
wed go back onli terrence told me i going to company line.. alpha company.. i was like wtf?
den whole of wed depression mode..
thurs co came to talk to some of the platoon medics.. den in e end it ended up that they have the option to opt out of platoon medics.. and we have the option to opt in..
but.. platoon medics will have progressive training/no guard duties/no medical centre duties/excuse all heavy load, load will be spread among soldiers or be on rover.. now that is seriously some very good bargain..
still.. 3 of them decided to opt out.. so yea.. now got shortage.. if we dun opt in.. situation will juz be lidat.. too bad..
totally stressed thru out the week.. and not to mention i had some v nasty dreams.. zzz..

i am still phoneless.. and there're like both goods n bads of not having a phone..

ok... i juz wasted 9.50 watching the banquet.. like.. onli the beginning part is nice lah.. waliew.. e later parts so dotz de.. but the good thing is that at least zhou xun is super cute n lovely in e show.. but zhang ziyi sucked.. zzz.. and its not up to expectation.. was expecting more like spectacular scenes.. less backstabbing artistic scenes..
should have watched haunted apartment.. i mean.. seldom got show rit, trailer onli i watch scared alr.. sure super exciting one..
